Ghandruk circuit trekking is a short  trekking in Nepal. Ghandruk trekking is popular among those trekkers who love soft and few days walking. The major highlight of Ghandruk trekking is Ghandruk village situated at an altitude of 2012 meters above sea level. Ghandruk is inhabited by Gurung people. They are one of the major ethnic groups of Nepal having their own tradition and culture. Ghandruk trekking offers an excellent view of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre and Himalchuli. Walking through rhododendron forests is also another exciting experience of this trekking. Villages of Landruk, Dhampus in the route of this trekking trail gives rural lifestyle of Annapurna.  Ghanruk circuit trekking is also appropriate for the children as well as weary trekkers because it doesn't entail any particularly long walking day and ascents to high altitude.

Ghandruk Trekking Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in international airport and transfer to hotel. O/n at Kathmandu hotel.

Day 02: Morning fly to Pokhara (half and hour). Drive one and half hour to Nayapul (1070m) by private vehicle. From Nayapul your trekking starts. On this day you trek towards Syauli Bazaar (1210m). 2h walking. O/n at mountain lodge.

Day 03: Trek from Syauli Bazaar to Ghandruk (1940m). 4h walking.O/n at mountain Lodge.
The trail ascends between the beautiful agriculture terrace fields. You see stunning view of Machhapurchhre Himal (6696m). Then you arrive to Ghandrung village. This village is well managed on the concept of eco-tourism. In, the same village the project of eco-tourism is implemented at the time in Nepal. There you can also visit Gurung Museum. The Ghandruk village is also the head quarter of Annapurna conservation area project. You can see there slide show about the activities of ACAP.

Day 04: Trek from Ghandruk to Chomrong village(2170m).6h walking. O/n at mountain Lodge.
Today you can see very close-up view of Annapurna South (7219m), Himchuli (6644m) and Machhapurchhre Himal (6996m).

Day 05: Trek from Chomrong to Landruk (1650m). 5h walking. O/n at mountain Lodge.
The trail descend one and half hour to Jhinu Danda. If you walk half and hour up and down you can also experience natural hot spring. After the lunch trek to Landruk. The village of Landruk is also the village Gurung people. From this village you can see excellent view of Annapurna mountain.

Day 06: Trek from Landruk to Dhampus (1550m).7h walking. O/n at mountain Lodge.
The trail contour through the nice village called Tolka. This village is surrounded by cultivated agriculture terraces. Then trail climbs up with lush forest until to Deurali. From Deurali you can witness Dhaulagiri Mountain and north part of Pokhara valley. set.

Day 07: Trek Dhampus to Phedi (1110m). 2 and half hour walking. O/n in hotel at Pokhara.
On this day early morning you see stunning sunrise and exiting view of Annapurna mountain range. The trail descends to all way back to Phedi. From Phedi you drive to Pokhara Valley (about half and hour). Afternoon you can rest in your hotel in Pokhara.

Day 08: Full day sightseeing in Pokhara valley (Fewa Lake, International mountain museum, David Fall, Bindybasini Temple, Shiva cave, Tibetan refuse camp and Seti River Gorge). O/n in hotel at Pokhara.

Day 09:
Morning fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Afternoon half day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley (Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swyambunath temple). O/n in hotel at Kathmandu.

Day 10: Transfer to international airport for final departure.

What is Camping Trekking? How is it organized?

In a camping trek you will sleep in our tents. The tents are roomy. The sleeping pads/ mattresses are comfortable. All food are prepared and served by our camping crew. Food you get is hygienic and fresh.

What equipments should I bring?

You should bring your personal wear like walking boots and sand shoes, sandal, a water-and wind-proof jacket, woolen shirts, T-shirts, a thick pullover, shorts/skirts and trousers/track suits. Thermal underwear is necessary for high altitudes More

What kind of food will be served while on trek?

You will be served freshly cooked food during trekking. In all tea houses/ lodges along trekking trail Western, Continental and Nepali dishes are available. Three meals a day will be provided you in full board (Gold) package.

How long do we trek per day and how high?

Up to a maximum of 5-6 hours a day with lunch breaks along the trail. The maximum altitude is depends upon which trek you are going. In Nepal normally the maximum altitude of most of the trekking falls between 3500m to 5000m.

What is the best season for trekking in Nepal? And can I go trekking in the months of January- February and June- August?

What happens if I get sickness during trekking?

To some trekkers when they go over 3000 m they may feel some affect of altitude sickness like shortness of breath and possibly a light headed which is fairly common. Sometime they may also get diarrhea as well as sprains and muscle aches. More
