Rara lake trekking is a still relatively unexplored trekking trail in Nepal. Rara is Nepal's largest lake lies at an altitude of 3050 meters within the boundary of Rara National Park. The surface of this lake is around 8 square kilometer and the perimeter 9 kilometer. The length of the lake is 5 kilometers, width is 2 and depth is 167 meter. The lake Rara looks like a blue nymph, indulged in romance with mountains. In the every afternoon the outstanding snowcapped panorama of Dolpo and Tibetan mountains overshadows the scene across the deep clear waters of the lake. Trekking to this stunning lake gives a taste of natural wilderness and silence. Our trek starts from Jumla, the largest upland hill town in the west Nepal. Climbing gradually through forests of mixed oak, conifer, pine, broad-leafed chestnut, white birch and rhododendron, we cross the lush alpine meadows with herds of sheep and goat herders. After exploration of this lake we hike through grassy alpine pastures and some villages. Then we descend to Jumla. From Jumla we take flight to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.

Accomodation during trekking

The above trekking route is in remote area of Nepal. This place is still out of modern civilization. There are very few tea houses/ lodes along the trail. So we offer you accommodation in tent. The tents will be roomy. The sleeping pads/ mattresses will be comfortable. You will sleep in sleeping bag on the mattress inside the tent. We supply all required camping equipments from Kathmandu.
