Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is anotherwonderful short days trekking in the territory of Annapurna Conservation Area Nepal. For Jomsom Muktinath trekking you take six hours scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. On the next morning of your arrival in Pokhara you take 25 minutes flight to Jomsom. Jomsom is the gate way of Muktinath as well as Upper Mustang, the forbidden kingdom of Nepal. After few moments of your arrival at Jomsom airport your trekking starts towards Kagbeni, the medieval looking Tibetan village. The trail goes along Kaligandaki River. You spend overnight at the local lodge/ hotel at Kagabeni. On the next morning you move up to Muktinath. Muktinath is the pilgrimage center of Hindus as well as Buddhist. In Muktinath you see Tibetan traders and sadhus (holy men) from as far away as the south of India. Here you visit Muktinath temple, shrines of different god and goddess, springs and natural gas spot. From Muktinath you retrace your steps to Jomsom. And then again catch a flight to Pokhara. From the trail of this trekking route you see panoramic view of Mt Annapurna 1st (8091), Mt Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt Tilicho (7134m), Mt Thorongla (5415 m) and Mt Nilgiri (7061m). Another attraction of this trekking is culture, life style of Thakali. Thakalis are indigenous group staying in north western part of Nepal.
Day 01: Upon arrival in Kathmandu airport meet our representative. Transfer to the hotel. Orientation of the trip. O/n at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Morning drive to Pokhara (6 hrs scenic drive). Sightseeing tour of Davis fall, Shiva Cave, Tibetan refugee camp. Evening relaxation at the Shore of Fewa Lake. O/n at the hotel in Pokhara.
Day 03: Early morning fly to Jomsom (2753m). Start your trekking from Jomsom to Kagbeni (2806m). 3 and 1/2 hour walking. Experience distinctive dry landscape of mountain in Kagbeni O/n at mountain lodge.
Day 04: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath Temple (3800m). 4 and 1/2 hour walking. O/n at mountain lodge.
Day 05: Morning visit Muktinath Temple and its surrounding important spots. Then trek back to Jomsom. O/n at mountain lodge.
Day 06: Morning fly back to Pokhara. The rest of the day on your own/ leisure time O/n at hotel in Pokhara.
Day 07: Drive back to Kathmandu. O/n at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 08: Preparation for your departure. Transfer to the Kathmandu international airport for your onward journey.
A typical trekking day means hiking from morning to afternoon only. Each morning after packing bags and having a good breakfast, we set off on the day's walk. We will recommend you to carry is a small day pack containing water bottle,sun cream, hat, raincoat, camera and warm jumper just case. Rest of your materials the porters will carry.
