Sailung indigenous trekking  trail offers unique living exposure of a culturally diverse area of Nepal with beautiful natural landscape. Sailung Peak in the north and Sun Koshi River flowing along the south mark is the start and end point of this trekking route. It offers mainly local home stay accommodation experiences offering trekkers a rare opportunity to familiar with culture and lifestyle of six different ethnic groups (Sherpa, Newar, Thami, Tamang, Yolmo and Majhis). The week long trail takes visitors from a starting elevation of 3146m at Sailung to 533m at Lubughat by the Sunkoshi river. So this trekking suits all types of trekkers particularly those wishing to avoid extreme high altitudes without missing the view of Himalayan panorama. The unique tourism activities which every trekker gets here are soft trekking, panoramic mountain views, visit to Silung and its unique environs, monastic visits at Rajveer, temple visit at Khandevi, forest walk, bird watching, traditionally decorated homes, sunset and sunrise views and amazing cultural performances.

Sailung Indigenous Trekking Itinerary

Upon arrival in Kathmandu airport, meet our representative. Transfer to the hotel. Orientation of the overall program.

On this day you walk few hours through the forest and along the ridge with spectacular views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang and Jugal Himal.

Today you hike to top of Shivapuri hill (2729m). This is the highest point of this trip. From the top you can see panoramic view of the western mountains like Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Ganesh Himal Range, Mt. Langtang Range, Mt. Dorjeelakpa Mt. Shisapangma, Mt. Gaurishankar and many more.

You wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise over the snowcapped mountains. After breakfast, you start your walking to Mulkharka (1894m). It takes about six hours to reach. Mulkharka offers wonderful photography and panoramic view of Himalayas.

After breakfast, you continue your hiking to Chisapani (2194m). It takes about four hours to reach. Here you meet villagers and see their culture and lifestyle.

Today you walk from Chisopani to Nagarkot. Nagarkot offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas with enchanting sunrise and sunset. This is well developed hill station of Nepal. Here are many quality hotels with high standards of service. But you spend your night in tent. This day is also the last day of your hiking and you do celebration with you hiking team.

Early morning you see the beautiful Sunrise. After breakfast you drive back to Kathmandu valley. On the way you visit Bhaktapur city. Here you explore amazing Nepalese art and architecture. Indeed Bhaktapur is an open museum of cultural development during 17th and 18th century.

Today you do few hours sightseeing tour of Swoyambhunath, the oldest Buddhist stupa famous as monkey temple. From here you see overall view of Kathmandu city; Boudhanath, one of the biggest Buddhist temples in the world. Around this stupa you visit many Tibetan monasteries and meet many Tibetan people; Pashupatinath, one of the holiest temple of Hindu people. Here you meet many Hindu Saints and see the lively cremation process of local people as Hindu tradition. The rest of the day is on your own (Shopping). Evening attend in farewell dinner at typical Nepalese Restaurant with cultural dances and music.
