Annapurna sunrise trek is based on watching the glimpse of sunrise along with mountain views. This sunrise trek brings glorious momentum towards the dawn while exploring rhododendron, oak trees, various species of flowers and birds. Annapurna sunrise trekking sometimes claimed as ‘Rhododendron walk’ by visitors, as the hill contains full of Rhododendron during spring. The view of the sunrise is watched early morning in Poon hill (3210m) while trekker spends the night before in Ghorepani (2974m). Ghorepani lies a major trail for Annapurna sunrise trekking, linking with several other villages as well as Annapurna base camp. There lives the Gurung community with a number of tea houses and lodges. Such amenities like wifi, snooker are also available for interested trekkers. Also, there are few shops for purchasing goods as well as local and international drinks. For a good try, ‘Tongba’ and ‘Mustang coffee’ are the cultural spirit drinks in Ghorepani.

Annapurna sunrise trek takes you 45 min warm-up to the Poon hill. Although elevation is 3210m, there is no risk of altitude sickness. Prior to waiting for the sun, you could get a panoramic view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs. The view gets even stunning over Poon hill tower with an amusing experience. Most of the trekker spends two nights in Ghorepani to observe both the Annapurna sunrise and sunset. If energetic, you could go for a sunset on the day of reaching Ghorepani.

Requirements for Annapurna Sunrise Trek:

  • While leaving early morning for Poon hill leads unsighted surroundings, so a flashlight is highly required on the dark steps.
  • Warm your clothing with a good bulky jacket, pair of gloves, hats as possible. The chilled wind of 13km/hr may affect you a coldness tendency.

Annapurna Sunrise Trek Itinerary

After arrival in Kathmandu International airport, you will be welcomed by our officer. He will assist you to transfer the hotel. At hotel he gives you orientation of the overall trip. Meet your trekking guide. O/n at hotel in Kathmandu.

Wake up early in the morning. Have a breakfast at the hotel. Walk to Tourist bus station with your trekking guide. Tourist bus departs for Pokhara at 7 o’clock. Enjoy seven our scenic drive. The bus stops half an hour nearby highway restaurants on the way for lunch. You will be reached at Pokhara around 2 o’clock. Check in at Pokhara hotel. The rest of the day is free. O/n at hotel in Pokhara

After breakfast, take one hour drive to Nayapul. After you reach Nayapul, you will start your trekking slowly. After 20-minutes walking along the Modi stream, you will reach at Birethanti – a beautiful village that has plenty of tea shops and guest houses. Then follow the left route through the village. Your trek continue heading to Ulleri following the bank of the Burungdi stream. You will climb slightly up to the valley of Hile (1495 meters) and Tikhedhunga (1525 meters). The trail leads steep up to Ulleri (2073 meters), a large beautiful Magar village. Ulleri is stopping point for today. O/ n at mountain lodge

After breakfast you start your walking. Today the trail leads you to the Ghorepani, one of the popular destinations of Annapurna region situated at an altitude of 2856 meters. You should gently ascend up to Banthanti (2250 meters) through Oak and rhododendron forest. Then continue trek towards Ghorepani through Nangeythanti (2460 meters). Today you will walk approximately 5 hours. O/ n at mountain lodge

Early in the morning climb up to Poon Hill (3210 meters) to see the panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himalayan ranges as well as exciting sunrise view over the Himalayas. After experiencing the great views of Himalayan panorama from Poon Hill, you descend to Ghorepani. After breakfast, continue downhill trek to Tadapani (2625 meter). The trail goes a long the ridges of rhododendron and pine forest till the Tadapani.

From Tadapani the trail pass through the dence rhododendron forest to the BhaiKhark From here the trail descends south of Ghandruk village. At the bottom of Ghandruk you can see traditional grindstone in small stream. The trail forks end of village take left hand down trail with paved stone staircases.
The trail contour to another beautiful village Chuile with paved stone staircases. The trail steep descend to Modi Khola through the small settlement terrace field rice paddy. Cross the iron bridge over the Modi Khola Where cultivated and dotted with typical farms and small settlements at Syauli Bazaar. Overnight at mountain Lodge.

Morning splendid view of Machapurchhre mountain through the cultivated and dotted with typical farms. The trails continuous flow the Modi Khola until Birethanti. From Birethanti half an hour walk to the Nayapul. Drive Nayapul to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel Pokhara.

After breakfast walk to tourist bus station with trekking guide. Then set for Kathmandu. After reach in Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel at Kathmandu. Have a rest. In evening you can stroll around Thamel, the major tourist destination of Kathmandu. You can do some last minute shopping of souvenirs for your family and relatives. O/n at hotel in Kathmandu

Today is your the last day in Nepal. Our officer will come to meet you at the hotel to escort you to Kathmandu International Airport for your flight to home.
