Dragon Air, the sister airlines of Cathay Pacific is going to operate daily flight on Hong Kong-Kathmandu route starting from September 2011. At present it has been operating three flights in a week. Focusing the increasing number of tourists from Hong Kong to Nepal and Nepal Tourism Year 2011 (NTY-2011), the company has decided to operate daily flight in this route, according to the company. The company also claimed that the additional flights would provide better facilities to ease passengers and also contribute to NTY-2011. Dragonair has been operating its flights in Nepal since 2007.
