On 7th December 2011 the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal organized a walkathon to mark the International Civil Aviation Day on Wednesday.
The walkathon, which started from Civil Aviation Office, Babarmahal in the Capital, reached to Tribhuvan International Airport.
Around 200 participants including Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Lokendra Bista, State Minister Dilip Maharjan, Officiating Secretary of the Ministry Ranjankrishna Aryal, General Manager of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Ramprasad Neupane took part in the walkathon.
The Aviation Day that is being marked with the theme ‘Let’s Support and Collaborate for Sustainable Aviation’ is expected to be beneficial for the development of civil aviation.
Speaking at a program organised at the Tribhuvan International Airport after the walkathon, Minister Magar said Nepal has a lot to do for the development of air services. He stressed for moving together to make the civil aviation strong and able and make the aviation day a success.
Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Bista hoisted the national flag, whereas State Minister Maharjan hoisted the flag of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) during the program.
