Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek

Preparation for a Manaslu and Tsum valley special permit and Issue. Kathmandu valley sightseeing to historical and spiritual attractions enlisted under the World Heritage Sites. The trek leader will meet the group for a meeting and provide a detailed briefing on the trek. . O/n at hotel in Kathmandu.

Drive from Kathmandu the busy Prithvi Highway road from Malekhu bazaar then crosses the Trishuli River a popular river for rafting. After 99 Km drive from Kathmandu, you will be in Dhading. From Dhading the sealed road on the left just before Dhading to begin a steep and slow climb to the Gola Bhanjang Pass to Arughat. Overnight at mountain lodge

The trek starts at Arughat Bazaar(608m) the jeep track climbs gently thought the terraced rice paddies to Managaltar. The next place is Arkhet is the second main bazaar is the region, you will enjoy a spectacular waterfall after 30m walk you will be in Khurasani Bari continuous narrow trail to the Lapubesi.O/n at Tea house.

The trail continues up-river, climbing though the riverbed, passing through Machhakhola (930m)across sandy river flats. After crossing lower Khorlabeshi (960m) the trail continues up and down over a couple of ridges to Tatopani (930m). O/n at Tea house.

The trail climbs over a ridge and crosses the Budi Gandaki on a new suspension bridge, circle under cliffs and climb a little to Doban (1000m), cross the bridge across the Yaru Khola (1363m) and emerge onto river flats at Yaru (1140m) to the Jagat. The trail crosses the long suspension bridge to the east bank and a tiring climb up to prosperous Philim (1590m). O/n at Tea house.

Trek to Chumling (2368 meters). After three suspension bridges in the morning, a steep ascent follows for the rest of the day. At the end of the day, the ascent starts to turn into a gradual nice walk and reaches Chumling. It is a short day as the trek enters into higher elevations. (4 hours) (Overnight at Teahouse)

The day’s trek is relatively on easy terrain as the trek heads higher into Tsum Valley. The trail follows one of the tributaries of the Budhi Gandaki River. After passing a small monastery, the trail climb ends at Chhokangparo, the biggest settlement of Tsum Valley. 6 hours. Overnight at Teahouse.

After ascent crossing a rope suspension bridge to the Rachen Gompa, which is also well known as Nunnery Gompa too. The trail crosses the Shiar Khola and continues walking through the well-managed villages Phurbe and Pangdun. Pass through the old historic Stupa of Buddha, climb upstream and cross the bridge to the Nile.

The trail leads through several small villages of Leru, Ngakyu and finally Lamagaun. After a brief visit to the Milarepa Cave, the trail continues on the riverbed and passes villages of Lar, Phurbe, Pangdun and reaches the twin village of Chule and Nile, finely trail climb leads out of the valley and ends the day at Mu Gompa(3700 m). Overnight at Teahouse.

The trail now descends down to the village of Dumje and a long steep climb in a different valley follows. The terrain slowly turns easier but still continues to climb and only ends at Gomba Lungdang. Ganesh Himal (7422 meters) stands tall and close to the monastery. Overnight at Teahouse.

The trek once again retraces back on the previously traveled route back to Chumling via Dumje. Still continuing on the same route through the beautiful cultivated field nearby Lhokpa village. The day’s trek finally ends at Lhokpa ( 2240m / 7347ft (7-8 hrs.). Overnight at Mountain Lodge.

After a brief drop back into the narrow valleys, the trek exits the Tsum Valley and again joins the Budhi Gandaki River. After crossing the river, the path gets steeper for a while and then steadies near Pewa. After Pewa, another uphill walk continues for the rest of the day and ends at Deng. Overnight at Mountain lodge.

The trail up and down rapidly until village to Rana. The trail through the Bihi Phedi and then undulates into the valley and finally reaches Ghap, small settlements. From here trail steep climb through the forest until the village of Namrung ends the day. 7-8 hrs. Overnight at Mountian Lodge.

From Namrung onwards, the trek now enters into the higher altitude. After a brief walk on easy terrain, the trail starts to go uphill until the village of Shyo. View of Manaslu (8156 meters) appears towards the west as the path drops into a river and yet again gets uphill until it reaches Lho. 4-5 hrs. Overnight at Mountain Lodge.

From Lho the trail once again drops into a river and yet again, is followed by a climb to the Shyala up to Sam Gaon.

Acclimatization day at Sama Gaon. After one-hour flat yak, pastureland walking the trail start zigzag steep yak trail through the green and lush meadow area. From here four hours climb the slippery trail, below you observe glacier lake. You will encounter many Yak and wild deer and blue sheep.

The trail gradually climbs through the valley and continues to follow the river. The path then gets steeper at the end of the day and reaches the village of Samdo, with Samdo peak (6335 meters) towering in the east direction. 4 hours of walking. Overnight in Mountain Lodge.

From Samdo the trail gradually descends briefly and then starts to ascend afterward towards the Larkya Glacier. The path becomes easier and ends at the start of the next day’s climb at Dharmasala(4460 m). From here gradual ascend into the Larkya Glacier only ends at the top of the pass Larkya La Pass (5235 m) and descent to the Bumthang

The trail quickly drops in and out of a glacier and then starts to drop towards the lower valley through the forest. The path once again follows the river by its banks and finally passes through Surki Khola and Goa while consistently losing more altitude. The path continues to get downhill and finally ends at Tilche. 7 hrs. Overnight at Teahouse.

From Tilje the trail crosses the river passes wheat fields. The trail continuously passes the small village of Thonje and crosses the Marsyangdi to the Dharapani(1960m). The trail descends to Kharte a beautiful view of Dona Khola waterfalls, the trail continuous decent the new road to Tal(1700m). Overnight at Teahouse.

The path still continues to go down and joins a newly constructed road near before reaching the busy settlement of Gagat. Also the newly constructed road as well. This is also the end of the trek and we drive to Besisahar and stay overnight in the town. (4 hours and 3 hours drive. Overnight at Teahouse.

Wake up early and have light breakfast in the morning. Drive Beshisara to Kathmandu. Enjoy the seven-hours scenic drive through the Prithibi Highway. The bus stops half an hour nearby highway restaurants on the way for lunch. You will be reached at Kathmandu around 2 o’clock. O/n at hotel in Kathmandu.

After breakfast walking to the Kathmandu Durbar Square and sightseeing around one hour. After sightseeing walking to the Ason and explore the local traditional market for Nepali people. Also, you think to buy local souvenirs you will get here in Local prices, back to the hotel on foot. O/n at hotel in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, walk around the Thamel. Last minute shopping. Preparing for departure. Transfer to the Kathmandu International airport for final departure. From your hotel, we will suggest you that leave before three hours to the Kathmandu international for departure.
