Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.'

On arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport, our Himalayan Smiles Treks & Adventure guide and staff will receive with warm welcome and garlands and then a short drive into hustle, bustle city life of Kathmandu city where the hotels are located around Thamel area, an interesting place to be, on reaching respective hotels check in and after some refreshment, our guide will brief with orientation programs regarding the activities while in Nepal with us from hiking and other necessary details with afternoon fee at leisure and a group dinner in the Nepali authentic restaurants.

Drive to Bhaktapur and to Changunararyan and hike to Nagarkot.'

Morning starting this great trip with a scenic interesting drive towards east of Kathmandu valley rim reaching at old medieval Bhaktapur city also called by its old name as Bhadgaon meaning ‘a city of devotees’ here our guide will lead you to interesting centre of Bhaktapur with a visit of historical and cultural sites., Bhaktapur is the third largest city in the Kathmandu valley, this city was once a capital of Nepal, during the great Malla Kingdom from the 12th to 15th century. Within 4 square miles of land located at an altitude of 1,401 meter above sea-level, a place enrich with traditional art and architecture, pottery and weaving industries, rich local customs and culture, and the every-day life of Bhaktapur people. Bhaktapur is also known for woodcarving, for Nepali caps known as Bhadgaon Topi , and for curd, busy and color-full open markets, people making clay-pots, weaving, and sun-drying crops and vegetable products, located just 14 km east of Kathmandu. While in Bhaktapur visit of old Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Naytapola Temple the 9 storey roofed pagoda the landmark of Bhaktapur, The Bhaktapur National Art Gallery, Bhairavnath Temple and Peacock Window at Dattarya Square. After a nice and interesting time our tour continues with 45 minutes drive uphill on the winding road reaching at a sleepy old town of Changunararyan, from here a short walk on easy steps to enter the ancient temple premises of Changunararyan a fine work of arts one of the oldest temple in Nepal history. This temple dedicated to Lord Visnu, the pagoda style temple has several masterpieces of 5th and 12th century Nepalese art. According to legends Changu Narayan temple existed as early as 325 A.D. in the time of King Licchavi King Hari Datta Verma and it is one of Nepal’s richest structures historically as well as artistically. In the grounds there is a stone pillar inscription of great importance recording the military exploits of King Man Deva who reigned from 496 A.D. to 524 A.D. The first epigraphic evidence of Nepalese history found in the temple premises during the reign of the Licchavi King Mandeva dating back to 464 A.D. shows that Changu had already been established as a sacred site in the 3rd century A.D. It is the earliest inscription known in Nepal. After an exciting and impressive time here, our hike starts from here with a gradual walk through patch of wooded area of rhododendron, pines and oaks tree lines with views of Bhaktapur and Kathmandu valley, as the walk progress leading to a small village of Telkot, from this place leads to an uphill passing by traditional rural farm villages on the winding agricultural area and joining at a road head with another short walk to reach the hotel overnight at Nagarkot the highest spot of this trip at 2,100 meters high. On reaching the hotel / resort check into your rooms for refreshment with time for short walk around the streets of Nagarkot.

Morning Hike to Sankhu town and return back to Kathmandu.'

Early morning at the crack of dawn starting the day with super sunrise views over the central and eastern Himalaya which extends all the way to Everest region towards far eastern horizon, after breakfast a scenic walk downhill through outskirt of Nagarkot area, leading to more farm villages and terraces fields with amazing views of snow capped mountain towards north, on reaching near Jarsing Pawa village, the walk leads into forested area downhill reaching the sleepy old town of Sankhu ( which was badly damaged by recent 25th April 2015 earthquake). Here visit of famous old temple Bajrayogini, Kathmandu is supposed to have the greatest power of blessings. History explains that the king Mana Dev once mediated at Gun Bihar area. After a tour of the fourth century constructed water tap and artistically decorated statue in the area, as this Bajrayogini temple an ancient religious place of the Kathmandu Valley. It was renovated during the period of Pratap Malla, a famous king of Malla regime in Nepal. After an interesting and fascinating day a drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels with time in the afternoon for short strolls around Thamel market place with evening group dinner with folk dance programs.
