Trek Overview

Lower Manaslu Eco trek is the combination of different flavor of village tourism that combines several different kinds of activities in Gorkha disctrict of Nepal. Before the unified Nepal there used to be several hilly kingdom all over the Nepal. The king Prithivi Narayan Shah started to make one country unified Nepal fighting with other small kingdom. Gorkha the lap of Mt Manaslu was once the capital of that territory before the unified Nepal .

Lower Manaslu Eco trek starts from Manakamana temple after taking 10 minute scenic cable car from Kuringhat. And the trek goes to Gorkha bazaar the ancient capital of Gorkha and the district headquarter of Gorkha district. We will spend one night in Gorkha Bazaar exploring the royal palace, Gorknath cave, Gorkha museum and the life in town. We can see the artifacts and the stuff that was used by king and the royal members some three century ago.

After our trip goes to Bhachhek 1730m/5674ft taking the four wheels drive through the bank of river Daraudi khola. After reaching Bhachhek we will trek to Sirandanda 1990m/6527ft for overnight stay. The next day our trek goes to the village of Barpak which was badly affected during the earthquake of 2015 and also it was the epicenter. Now almost everything is rebuilt again. This Barpak village belongs to Gurung tribe of Nepal. The Gurung people are very popular for Gurkha the bravest warrior from Nepal. This Barpak village is full of Gurung culture, custom, tradition, language and the typical way of living. After Barpak our trek leads to another similar village Laprak where we can see so many houses building same local design. All the houses are stone thatched roof and stone slate spread all over the yard and the trail around the village which is so unique that gives surreal experience to explorer. After Laprak our trek goes to the next village called Nambe Kharka from where we can see spectacular view of the mountain and landscape. The next morning we hike to Darche danda 3220m/10561ft hilltop to see the sunrise and the 360 view of Himalaya. We can see around 20 famous mountain from Annapurna, Manaslu & Ganesh Himal region.
