Humla Limi Valley Trekking

Humla Limi Valley trekking lies in the far northwest corner of Nepal. Heavy snowfall throughout the winter; Limi is one of the remote valleys extending from the border of the Himalayan pass near Hilsa to another pass, Chang-la, between Nepal and Tibet. The longest River of Nepal, Karnali, flows into Nepal's border at Hilsa Trans-Himalayan Limi Valley is beautiful, historical, and scenic. The top of Gyuckarka at 5,000m offers wonderful panoramic scenery of the Nepalese Himalayas. And they are Saipal (7,031m), Byas, Rishi, Api, Kanjirawa, Kanti and Gorakh Himalayan range.

Humla Limi Valley trekking is also famous for rare flora and fauna, like the marmot, wolf, wild yak, blue sheep, wild ass, musk deer, hare, Himalayan black bear, and occasionally the snow leopard as well. Limi Valley is tucked away in Nepal, near the far edge of the country. It lies in Humla, up in the far north. The area is near the border with Tibet. A lot of travelers call it remote and hard to reach.

For years, outsiders were not allowed in. The valley was kept closed to trekkers until 2002. After that change, people could finally visit. Because of the late opening, the Tibetan Buddhist customs stayed strong. Even today, the views still feel new.

Inside the valley, you can visit three older villages. They are Halji, Jang, and Til. Each village has long-standing monasteries. Rinchenling Gompa is one of the sites people often mention.

The land around these villages is open and strong in its shape. You look up at tall peaks. You also see rivers that show a blue tone. At higher levels, there are wide flat stretches. The whole journey feels like you are watching daily life across the Himalaya up close.

Reaching the valley is not easy. The culture and the scenery have also stayed mostly as they were. That is why trekkers still come there for a more serious trip. Many end up adding it to their own list of places to visit.
