Tour Overview

The Ghale Gaun village tour offers an exotic, pristine village endowed with an unparalleled picturesque magnificence and a home of legendary Gurkha soldiers. Ghalegaun is a model village for experiencing the typical culture and lifestyle of the Gurung people, unique village tourism, and practicing community-based hospitality, with a stunning view of natural beauty mixed with an unspoiled ethnic lifestyle. Ghalegaun village is located at the base of Lamjung Himal in the north of central Nepal.

Ghale Gaun village is approximately 205 km west of Kathmandu and 2016 m above sea level. The village is probably the best for an entire breathtaking view of the Himalayas, including Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, Bouddha Himal, Himalchuli, and other neighboring peaks. The village has 95 Gurung-style houses and has recently been marketed as a new destination for village tourism. A good number of houses have been prepared for domestic and international visitors with comfortable basic amenities, warm hospitality, and local food. Here, food items such as vegetables, grain, milk, meat, and eggs are all locally produced and are indeed free from any chemical fertilizers. It is a wonderful experience in itself as it crosses over the Marsyangdi, Khudi, and Midim rivers, passing through rhododendrons blossoming along with the chirps of birds and wild insects. The trekking route passes through dense jungle, villages, and impassible waterfalls. Nearby Talygo Lake and Lami Lake add a new dimension to these attractions. Activities around Ghale gaun include bird watching at Talangyo lake and visits to the Utter kanya temple, Pempro fall, Batase Cave, and the Khudi hydroelectric dam site
