Nepal Tibet tour packages take you to the lap of the Himalayas along with different ethnic groups. Both countries are neighboring each other and create similar natural and cultural environments. However, the climate and temperature are vastly different between these two regions, which you will find out in the given below.
Nepal Tibet tour packages are held from the host country Nepal. At first, you will start with the ancient city in the east of the Kathmandu valley. Here you will find many arts & architecture from the Licchavi period. After a cultural visit to Bhaktapur, you will drive to the Nagarkot hill for sunset and sunrise views. The hill is located at the 2,175m altitude where you can observe the panoramic view of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest. Next early morning, you will observe the sunrise, then hike up to Changunarayan at the high hilltop. After visiting the World Heritage Site Changunarayan, you will drive back to Kathmandu and prepare for the journey to Pokhara.
Pokhara is the second largest metropolitan city after Kathmandu, which is a 200 km distance from each great city. You will fly 25 minutes journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara while sightseeing at Phewa Lake, Barahi Temple, World peace pagoda, Seti river gorge. Pokhara is also the tourism capital of Nepal, following the unique natural resources nearby the city. There, you will drive to the famous hill station at Sarangkot for the sunrise view of the Himalayas.
Lhasa is the capital of Tibet. It sits at an altitude of 3,656 m above sea level. People often call it the “Sunlight City” because the skies are usually clear.
Many Nepal to Tibet trips begin with a flight from Kathmandu. The trip takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. From the air, you may see Everest and other high peaks.
Lhasa Gonggar Airport lies about 60 km from town. Getting in by car usually takes around 1 hour. If you travel by road instead, the route from Kathmandu to Lhasa through Kyirong can take 5 to 7 days. You will also stop along the way to help with acclimatization.
When you go sightseeing, the Potala Palace is a top stop. You can also visit Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Square. Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery are often on the list too. Many travelers also spend time at Norbulingka Summer Palace. Some people add a day trip to Yamdrok Lake. Ganden Monastery is another common choice.
Lhasa tends to be dry and bright. It stays cool, and the air feels thin. In summer, from May to September, daytime temperatures often sit between 8°C and 23°C. In winter, from November to February, it can drop from -10°C up to about 8°C. Kathmandu is different. At about 1,400 m, it is warmer and more humid. In summer, highs are usually 28°C to 30°C. Winters are mild, around 2°C to 19°C. Even in the same season, Lhasa nights feel colder than nights in Kathmandu.
Tibetan culture is known for faith and hospitality. Many local people are devoted Buddhists. You will see prayer wheels often. Butter tea is common. Festivals are bright and lively. You may also notice pilgrims walking around temples in circles, which many visitors remember.
