Today we’ll gonna discuss the EBC trek packing list and why it is recommended. But before we go to that topic, let’s find out some information about Everest Base Camp.

Everest Base Camp (EBC) is one of the most popular and highly suggested trekking destinations in Nepal. The base camp lies beneath the world’s highest mountain Mt. Everest (8,848m) including two other high mountains Lhotse (8,516m) and Nuptse (7,861m). The overall region lies in Khumbu region where lives an ethnic group of Sherpas. The climate here is intenseness of coldness as the altitude gets higher. The temperature recorded in EBC is -17°C in winter and 18°C in a summer season. So literally, you will need to pack the number of equipment that will fulfill your EBC trek smooth, warm and comfortable. Here are the sufficient EBC trek packing list below:

Trekking trousers allow you to move your pace more comfortably and we recommend you bring two.

Make sure you got good quality hiking boot that won’t ruin your steps during trekking.

You must bring at least 45 – 60L backpack if not required of porters.

Duffel bag

A duffel bag is a large cylindrical bag that can easily store any pieces of equipment. The bag is designed for packing trekking gears while the porter will carry them with you.

Woolen cap

A woolen cap is highly necessary as the cold temperature hits your head. Having a warm head will bring your mood and experience the best moments.

Sunblock hat

During sunny weather, you definitely want to wear a  hat that fully covers your face directly from the sun.

Protect the eyes from UV intensity as the Himalaya is relatively high due to the altitude. So make sure you bring 100% UV protection mountain sunglass.

Bring two kind of gloves; inner and outer gloves. Inner gloves act like base layer gloves made from fleece material. Whereas, the outer gloves gives you super warm. waterproof and durable.

When a bad weather occurs raincoat is the only answer from such situations.

Gaiters are waterproof materials which are used to prevent water, dust, mud from getting into your boot. They are worn extend up from your boot to calves.

Sleeping bag

If you camping then a sleeping bag is worth to bring. With this synthetic materials provides a warmness to your body while camping in the extremely cold night. Also, make sure you bring sleeping bag liner to add additional insulation and cleanliness.

During high altitude, you get dehydrated a lot and you must drink 2 to 3-liter water per day. And it will bother you to take a water bottle from opening your bag pack time to time. So we recommend you a hydration bladder that helps you drink water too quickly through the connecting pipe. You should also bring extra water bottles as a stock or refill.

Energy giving foods
As you know walking 5-6hrs a day cost you more calories, you should consume the energy giving foods that produce enough energies for the day. Carry a chocolate bar, energy candy, glucose. fruits, nuts, snacks, etc.

First Aid Kit
Although your guide will be carrying first aid kit mostly, it is even better if you carry your own. If you are solo, then it is a must.

Medicines like paracetamol and ORS is highly recommended to prevent a headache and diarrhea respectively.

Cosmetic care
Always remember to apply Sunscreen before heading towards the sunny weather. And not to forget lip balm as well.

Bring hygienic soap and bathing soap. Also, you may require washing soap for the laundry.

Choose super fiber tower as it takes a short duration to dry quick.

This includes the toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, etc

Hand sanitizer
Since most of the time, you may not find tap water to wash your hand with a soap, hand sanitizer is the perfect solution. It is also quick to use and can be placed anywhere unlike soaps.
