Trek Overview

Kathmandu Valley trek is made for those who have a very little time for see the Himalayas mountain glory of Nepal with short trekking. Kathmandu valley trek around Chisapani Nagarkot the lush hills ringing Kathmandu treads the jungle trail of Shivapuri National Park, where trekkers get to sight the colorful species of birds and diverse species of animals. This trekking also is known as Kathmandu valley rim trekking. The hiking is around the capital valley started from the Sundarijal which is just 13 km away from the Kathmandu city. Sundarijal is famous for canyoning. The place has dense forest along with river and waterfall which make the place stunning to observe and easy to lust in such place. Chisapani is another beautiful place in this short hiking tour which offers the fantastic panoramic views of the Himalayas, mountain and magnificent landscape along with neat and warm hospitality from the locality.

It is around the edge ofKathmandu valley there are various places that offer great mountain views, but it is generally held to be the best. It is a popular tourist resort of Nepal. It is situated 32 km east ofKathmandu at an altitude of 2175 meter above sea level. Dedicated mountain watchers make their way up to this resort village and stay overnight in the hotel. Next morning rise at dawn to see the sun rise over the Himalaya.
Kathmandu valley trek another highlight spot is Nagarkot. From here can view the panorama of the major peaks of eastern and central Nepal. Between October and March, a trip to Nagarkot will always be rewarded with a view but you should be very lucky to catch the view of Himalayas during monsoon season between June and September.

Kathmandu valley trek came to end at Bhaktapur which has the best-preserved palace courtyards and a very old city of Nepal. Bhaktapur is renowned for its art, architecture, and culture along with it. The Kathmandu valley short trekking is ended with a short visit to Bhaktapur Durbar square which is world heritage site preserved by UNESCO.

Detailed Itinerary

Arrival in Kathmandu international airport. Orientation program. Overnight in hotel at Kathmandu.

Orientation program

Kathmandu valley sightseeing(Patan Durbar Square, Baudhanatha Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple). Overnight in hotel at Kathmandu.

After the breakfast drive two hour from Kathmandu to Sundarijal which is starting point of hiking. From Sundarijal trek moves forward to Mulkharaka village up to the Bhanjang. You can see the see the clear view of snow capped mountains from the mulkharaka village. After bhanjang the trails descend to the Chispani which is 2150 meter of altitude. Overnight at Chisapani in tea house.

Journey moves to Nagarkot from Chisapani after the breakfast. The hiking trail is easy and good scenery of the Himalayas including Ganesh, Langtang, Makalu, Manaslu and other Himalayas. The journey will be around 5 hours with slow walk and came to end at Nagarkot. Overnight at Nagarkot in hotel.

Morning enjoy sun rise above High Mountain including world highest mountain Everest, Lhotse, Choyu and Makalu Scenic walk around Nagarkot. After Breakfast drive back to Kathmandu and in the middle of journey we visit to Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur has the best preserved palace courtyards and old city of Nepal. The town is rich in culture, temples and wood and stone artwork.Overnight at Bhaktapur in hotel.

Drive one hour Bhaktapur to Kathmandu. Leisure time/walk around nearby places or utilize by packing up for departure. Transfer to international Airport for Departure.
