Slangs of nepal
Nepali slang is a mirror of the youth culture and social dynamics of the country. Some of the most popular words are “Hait” for extremely big situations, “Dai” and “Bhai” for elder and younger brothers (sometimes used among friends), and “Daami” for cool or awesome. The young generation has made it a habit to use “Kasto” to ask or to exclaim; “baal xaina” is the word for aggressive indifference. Often, the words “saathi” (friend) and “paisa” (money) are heard in informal talks. There is a heavy English influence on Nepali slang, particularly in the urban areas. These words are primarily used among the youth and peers, thus enabling the speakers to communicate in an authentic way while showing the influence of Nepal's traditional and modern cultures that are globally affected by social media.
